Luckily I am off from work this manic Monday. It always seems to me that  Monday is the peak on the first drop of a roller coaster.  The rest of the week is a wild ride full of twists and turns until it finally slows to a stop Friday afternoon.

Baby It's COLD Outside

The temperature at the North Pole is warmer today than where I live. Seriously. Baby Z and I are huddled up at home waiting out the cold in front of a toasty fire today. The past 6 weeks have been a blur of baby love. All of my fashion decisions have been based on how easy it is to nurse the baby, but this cold weather has me dreaming of spring and spring fashion. I know, I know we have a lot of winter still ahead, but a girl can dream right?

Christmas

Z's first Christmas was a success! We came home from celebrating with a carload of gifts for this little lady and it made me think about all of the gear it takes to care for a little one. There are a lot of options out there and it is difficult to decipher what you will truly need and more importantly what your baby will like. I am new to this parenting thing, but over the last 5 weeks we have tried many baby items and these are a few of my favorites.

1. Pack 'n Play Playard with Newborn Napper Elite by Graco (available here) has been amazing. There are so many great features that I don't know what we would do without it! The best part is that as Z grows the playard will grow with her!

2. aden + anais swaddles (available here) are amazing! We have other swaddles at home, but these are the only ones in rotation! The soft muslin, and not to mention cute designs, make these a can't do without in our household.

3. Fischer-Price My Little Sweetie Cradle n Swing (available here)is another wouldn't do without. We use this swing daily. The most important reason we love it so much is Z is so happy in it! She loves the music and mobile and the swing makes her oh-so-sleepy.

November 25, 2013 changed our lives forever.

At 11:56 p.m. (after 17 hours of labor!) we became the proud parents of a lovely little girl, Z.

Q and I are in madly in love with this little beauty.

Our road to fertility was a long and winding road including endometriosis, cancer, failed fertility treatments, disappointment, and finally the best day of our lives. And after all of that, I wouldn't change a moment because it lead us to our little girl. As I finish writing my first blog entry, Z is in my arms. I am speculating if life could be anymore perfect. Not at this moment.
